COMMUNITY FIRST

An overdraft occurs when you do not have enough money in your account to cover a transaction but we pay it anyway. These types of items include checks, automated clearing house (ACH) transactions, recurring debits, in-person withdrawals, ATM transactions and debit card transactions.

We do not authorize or pay overdrafts for ATM transactions or everyday debit card transactions unless you ask us to.

Many customers want their debit card authorized and overdrafts covered for debit card purchases at the grocery store, gas station and other convenience type transactions. In addition, many customers want to be able to make necessary ATM withdrawals at machines throughout the world.

To Opt In on your debit card transactions, please call us in West Plains at 417-255-2265 or in Mountain Grove at 417-926-3820. Or, stop by one or our locations for more information.

If you want us to continue handling your account in the same manner we always have, all you have to do is Opt In.

If you do not Opt In (agree), by August 15, 2010, Community First's Overdraft Defender service will not apply to your everyday debit card and ATM transactions. These transactions typically will be declined when you don't have enough money in your account.

Even if you Opt In, you will not be charged unless you utilize our Overdraft Defender service and overdraw your account. Then, our normal overdraft fee of $25 per item will apply. If your account stays overdraw for 6 or more consecutive business days, we will charge an additional $5 per day. There is no limit on the total fees we can charge you for overdrawing your account.
